Commonly seen hauling cement, chemicals, potash, sand or other dense granular materials, no railroad should be without a fleet of covered hoppers. Compact and colorful, these cars will add interest to any freight train and are decorated in paint schemes common from the late 1950s to 1980s. Cars also feature metal frames and opening roof hatches.
